Stage experience for dancers in different styles
“Hamisgeret” produces 2 dance evenings for the general public during the school year.
Performances in which Hamisgeret’s dancers perform a wide range of repertoire in which they experience works from the world of ballet, neoclassical and contemporary dance. These dance evenings allow dancers to experience masterpieces from the well-known traditional pieces as well as new works.
During the school year the dancers are challenged in solo, duet and group work. This experience makes it possible to develop the self-confidence needed to integrate into the world of professional dance.
Performances and meetings with dance students around the country
“Hamisgeret” coordinates collaborates with dance majors and dance schools - we see ourselves as ambassadors for the art of dance and therefore it is important for us to encourage, inspire and support the next generation of dancers. “Hamisgeret” holds introductory meetings with dance students from around the country. The purpose of these sessions is to bring dance students with encouragement and an example to achieve and find tools for the effective and healthy development of the body along with the development of musical expression and reliability in movement. Meetings serve the dancers as a tool for developing the process of preparation for performance and facing these various challenges. In addition, the dancers hold dance and repertoire classes together with the students of the program and even create a joint show together. These performances allow for additional stage experience for dancers in the Hamisgeret and educate them in taking responsibility and sharing.
Participated in the production of "The Nutcracker"
“Hamisgeret” is proud to allow its dancers to participate in a full dance production. This production is set in two acts of the ballet with sets, costumes and different casting. The importance of integrating into the experience of full-length ballet provides important experience in the process and an understanding of the needs of the professional dance world. Alternating between different roles and castings during this process alongside supporting and encouraging the success of the show is an essential part of the development of the aspiring dancer.
Workshops for school students to promote the understanding of the art of dance
“Hamisgeret” holds lectures and open rehearsals throughout the year for audiences who are unaware of the art of dance. A series of lectures that illustrates the process of building the dancer, the art of dancing in two, different dance styles, the way the story is presented in ballet, creation and dance as a profession. “Hamisgeret” dancers under the guidance demonstrate and perform the vast vocabulary of ballet in classwork, and the process required for the choreography and staging dance works.
Repertoire workshops
During the school year guest artists and resident artists will bring to the program a variety of ideas, diversity and inspiration. These workshops will bring together dancers and artists and develop relationships in contact for employment and enthusiasm.
summer course
Every summer, “Hamisgeret” holds a summer intensive courses in which the dancers of ”Hamisgeret” can continue the intensive and consistent training, experience different dance styles and training from guest teachers.
