Nira Paz's talk on the "Hamisgeret":

About

The "Hamisgeret"

"Hamisgeret" has been built for dancers who are looking for a place that will allow them to continue their education in the process of developing as professional dancers.

The work of "Hamisgeret" relies on ballet training as a technical basis and building a broad infrastructure for movement and expression. It is a program that faces challenges, in promoting the physical abilities of each dancer; Through practice, dancer gain a deep familiarity and understanding of their body, as well as the tools for developing and expressing the emotions that are both visible and hidden within them.

The intensive activity of this program combines a daily ballet lesson, men's class, pointe class, reinforcement and repertoire. The idea is that the dancers will gain stage experience, including participation in productions, classical and contemporary repertoire evenings, thus gaining opportunities to work with diverse choreographers from the world of dance.

"Hamisgeret" is a two years program that takes place at the "Reim Dance Center" in Holon, from September to June.

The program is designed to serve dancers with previous experience from ages 18-24 of which must go through an admissions process. (There is a possibility of accepting dancers at other ages as well, according to talent, motivation, and understanding of the process).

The program operation days are Sunday to Thursday, between the hours of 09:30-16:00.

The audition dates, which take place twice a year, are announced during the year.

The vision of the program

Lazar describes his vision for “Hamisgeret” program: "I strive to instill in dancers the belief that the experiences and processes each person goes through are a product of their destiny, and the understanding that the path to personal fulfillment is always in the future and not in the past. This spiritual insight pushes and allows dancers to grow in a fuller range of movements and style."

With this belief in the future and destiny of each dancer it is building the process of development in each individual as an artist and as a person. Lazar is certain that every artist's talent must be backed by confidence of their existence and a patience for the development and the time it takes to reach their full potential. The range of talent should be assessed, first of all, by the dancer himself, out of an understanding of the significance of his role  and that the audience should experience what the art should provide.
